The Reverend Ron Griffin
Christ Church's Rector Elect
Before being ordained a priest in 2000, Fr. Ron W. Griffin was very involved in the music business as a record producer, engineer and music executive. He has earned two Grammy's and three Dove awards for some of his work.
In 1994 Ron, Charlotte and their two children Nathan and Amy moved to Breckenridge Colorado where Ron began a ministry for young adults called The House with the Red Door; a safe place for young adults and a resource and catalyst for positive change. As the founding director with a staff of 4 and many volunteers, the ministry of the House with the Red Door ministered to over 12,000 guests in 6 years.
It was in Breckenridge Fr. Ron pursued the call to Holy Orders and then became rector of Saint John the Baptist Episcopal Church. While leading a growing congregation, Ron attended Iliff School of Theology where he earned a Masters of Theological Studies with an area of emphasis in Anglican studies.
Ron and Charlotte like to cook together, have people over for great food, wine and conversation. They like to spend time with their family, especially their granddaughter Hannah who is five. Charlotte says Ron is a "piddler" who always enjoys being busy, fixing, repairing anything broken or not working. Ron is active physically; skiing, fly fishing and deep sea fishing, he loves to row (skull) in the mornings, and has taken up golf…again. This past year Ron has been producing a recording project with their son Nathan who lives in Nashville, TN.
The Griffin's have a new addition to the family, a 30 week old puppy named Breck, a Standard Schnauzer. Breck comes from a long line of champions, both in conformation and agility. Breck has won the puppy division each of his four times in the conformation ring. Ron however is still a novice.
The Griffin's are busy selling their home, packing for the move and excited to be finding their home in Eureka. Ron and Charlotte's first Sunday will be September 7.
"From the first time I read about Christ Church Parish, I was excited about the possibility of serving as rector in such a dynamic faith community. The level of spiritual attention, discernment and guidance by the Holy Spirit with the Applicant Review Committee and your vestry was refreshing and life-giving. I am grateful to be called to Christ Church and look forward to our ministry together."
